The Right Fit/Good Views
What do you envision when you see yourself walking down the aisle? What about when you and your new spouse walk into your reception and cheer on your guests?!? Finding a venue with the right elements of design is important but then you must also consider your guests and Vendors. What is the size of room compared to guest list and event elements you need for your big day? Are various rooms needed? How many guests? Will traffic flow thru areas or a specific room? Where are restrooms? Wheelchair accessible? Is there valet or parking spaces available and enough for all guests?
Does it meet your needs and your guests needs?

Social/Mingle Areas
It's best to have an easy flow for guests of where to park, walk in thru, sit, eat, drink, mingle and/or dance! Is the reception area high or low ceilings? Are there obstructions in the room that block view for guests and or your bridal party? If the configurations are weird, it may cause you to feel cramped or mess with the flow of your event. Where will you walk in thru vs your guests? Does it feel good for you and comfortable?
Lighting/Outlets
Sometime a beautifully set up scenery may look gorgeous but depending on the time of day and which way light shines it may end up a Photographer nightmare!!
Also, ensure that any rental companies/outside vendors have any restrictions on amps/electrical outlets and that your venue will meet the needs of your Vendor Team.

Have a
Plan B (Just in case)
It is never pleasant
to think about your perfect vision not getting to happen. But just in case of
mother nature, or some sort of fluke, it's always a good idea to put together a
backup plan.
Privacy
Privacy can get very
tricky when it comes to venues. And depending on the couple the level of
importance on the scale of things varies. Daytime events are hard to do in
local attractions/parks due to the Public Open Hours. Also, in public spots
like city owned parks, beaches, gardens, there may be an occasional stranger
passing by or checking out your event! If you want more privacy you may want to
go with a private property, private estate, hotel, or country club atmosphere.
